A Positive Experience

July 14th, 2009

It’s always interesting to read about first time visits to a nudist resort. While attending The AANR World Record Skinny-Dip on Saturday was not your typical visit, first-timers can be uncertain about the experience. What they usually find is that the visit exceeds their expectations and they have a great time. One comment that is heard over and over is that the people at nudist resorts are so friendly.

That was the case for Metromix Orlando writer Miriam Lorenzi, who made the trip out to Cypress Cove Nudist Resort & Spa to cover the Skinny-Dip event. Lorenzi says she didn’t know what to expect but what she found was cooperation and “friendly smiles.” She closes her article with “Incidentally, this assignment has been filed under POSITIVE EXPERIENCE.”

Skinny-Dip Counts Rolling In

July 13th, 2009

Thousands of skinny-dippers across North America took the plunge Saturday for The AANR World Record Skinny-Dip, the grand finale to Nude Recreation Week.  Although the official Guinness World RecordsTM count is not yet in, larger than expected numbers were seen at approximately 130 designated locations. Sandy Hook/Friends of Gunnison in New Jersey reported approximately 1200 participants. Cypress Cove noted that 410 people dove into the lake at 3 p.m. Eastern Nudist Time. Other estimates include Solair Recreation League in Connecticut with close to 400, DeAnza Springs in California with close to 200, Laguna del Sol in California at 502, Glen Eden Sun Club in California at 120, and Sauvie Island in Oregon at 29. The results so far for Arizona clubs are Shangri La at 267, Mira Vista at 153, and Arizona Wildflowers at 26. At Haulover Beach in Miami, 1500-2000 skinny-dippers raced toward the water at 3 p.m.

Check back here for updates as the results come in and for the final official number. For those who were able to participate, thanks for your support.
