Thousands of skinny-dippers across North America took the plunge Saturday for The AANR World Record Skinny-Dip, the grand finale to Nude Recreation Week. Although the official Guinness World RecordsTM count is not yet in, larger than expected numbers were seen at approximately 130 designated locations. Sandy Hook/Friends of Gunnison in New Jersey reported approximately 1200 participants. Cypress Cove noted that 410 people dove into the lake at 3 p.m. Eastern Nudist Time. Other estimates include Solair Recreation League in Connecticut with close to 400, DeAnza Springs in California with close to 200, Laguna del Sol in California at 502, Glen Eden Sun Club in California at 120, and Sauvie Island in Oregon at 29. The results so far for Arizona clubs are Shangri La at 267, Mira Vista at 153, and Arizona Wildflowers at 26. At Haulover Beach in Miami, 1500-2000 skinny-dippers raced toward the water at 3 p.m.
