Today is the first day of Nude Recreation Week, an annual week-long event for nudists and naturists across North America and the Caribbean. The event has evolved from National Nude Beach Day in 1975 to National Nude Weekend to its present-day incarnation as Nude Recreation Week.
Nude Recreation Week is a celebration for nudists but it is also a time to share the joys of nude recreation with those who have never tried it before. Have you thought about skinny-dipping or spending time at a nudist club or resort or at a designated nude location? There is sure to be one nearby.
Many AANR clubs host special activities during the week, and many waive grounds fees for first-timers so visitors can find out for themselves about the stress-free enjoyment of the nudist lifestyle.
This year, nudists across North America are especially excited about Nude Recreation Week, which will culminate with The AANR World Record Skinny-Dip. The Guinness World RecordsTM organization has created a new category for the largest number of people simultaneously skinny-dipping, and AANR is the contract association for this record-setting event.
Skinny-dipping, a wholesome tradition as old as mankind and frequently honored in art and movies, celebrates the natural joy of plunging into water without hindrance of clothing. AANR is coordinating skinny-dipping events at participating clubs and legally-sanctioned nude beaches throughout North America on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 3:00 pm Eastern Nudist Time, as an exciting finale to Nude Recreation Week.
